Mixed Signals The PlayStation 2 perfectly captures the zeitgeist of the late 1990s, from the box to the advertising, and even the console startup sound So in this video we take a look at how the startup sound is crafted in order to incorporate the futuristic space aesthetic that was all the rage in those years, and what story it's trying to tell (2 months ago)

The “Wilhelm scream” is so readily recognizable that it briefly takes me out of any movie every time I hear it.
IanDavidOnDU (9 months ago)
I've seen the closed captions on a film actually say, "Wilhelm Scream."
Martinroadsguy (6 months ago)
So Wilhelm took an arrow to the knee...
Ryan_1269 (9 months ago)
Fun fact. The game Red Dead Redemption has this scream when you kill an enemy. Although it’s randomized whether you get the scream or not.
cardboardcapeii4286 (8 months ago)
It expresses pure agony, not something you’d think to hear when a character is falling, which is when it’s usually applied.
lornenoland8098 (10 months ago)
Completely useless information, yet I feel my life is fuller for knowing it
candy-vintageghoul13 (9 months ago)
They always use it for someone falling, which never sounded right to me, but it does sound more like a guy getting hit by an arrow.
KentVigilante (6 months ago)
The Wilhelm scream is put into a lot of scenes that don’t seem right for it
Blackoutdmc (9 months ago)
The Wilheim scream will never not get a smirk/chuckle out of me anytime I catch it in a movie.

I want to make the Wilhelm scream my ringtone.

2:15 - i like the "cover version" more than just "replaying the original"
mrbillhicks (3 months ago)
Heck, that actor would be worth a fortune if he got paid for all the times it was used
jaxnean2663 (10 months ago)
“Real scream in pain” and the rest is history!
hoodagooboy5981 (9 months ago)
And now children, you know the truth.
latexu95 (8 months ago)
0:40 Basically the live action equivalent of Disney's famous "Goofy Holler", a scream he makes whenever he's falling from a high place.
