One summer while he was a student at Villanova University, Robert Prevost worked in the cemetery at St. Denis Parish in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
Today, the church community is overjoyed that Bob, as they know him, has been elected pope, adopting the name Pope Leo XIV. Rev. Kevin Gallagher tells us many members of the parish were classmates with Bob at Villanova.

"You saved him too slow" Ah yes because we all forgot this girl was a trained EMT and not a teenage girl who had never seen her dad have a seizure before in her life.

People are honestly disgusting. This was this man’s first seizure. The daughter didn’t know what to do. She reacted well under pressure. What matters is that she saved his life.

Being an epileptic myself, I believe she reacted perfectly fine, seeing someone have a seizure especially for the first time, can be very shocking, as I'm sure it was for her, and she didn't just freak out or do anything to put him in more danger. And unintentionally putting the person having the seizure in more harm is very common

It’s always easier to judge someone’s actions when you weren’t the one who were there.

The daughter did the best thing. For my non-lifeguard friends, you aren't supposed to remove someone from the pool, the water is actually a better environment as their head can't bang on the ground. All you do is support the head so they don't take in water and stand back so you don't get hurt. She most definitely saved his life as he would have drowned from the water in his lungs (dry/secondary drowning)

I had a friend who died this way when we were 16. It still breaks my heart even now at 33.

Y’all were talking badly about his daughter? You realize this man is probably close to if not 200 pounds and he was seizing. So he’s already clenching up. In a pool or not. She can’t be expected to firefighter carry that man all the way out the pool. Good for her! She did great!

He’s so lucky the girls were there when this happened. Glad he’s ok! They did a great job.

that woman just jumped right into the pool to get to her husband, now that's a wife. love that the daughter kept an eye on her dad and was able to see he needed help and gave it to him. good women, the both of them. that is one lucky man/husband/dad.
