Description
Hello, and welcome to my channel!

My name is Nicholas. I'm a railfan Richmond, VA and I have loved trains my whole life! In fact, trains are the majority of the content you'll find on this channel. I'll also make other videos on occasion reflecting off my other interests. I'm also into military stuff, anime, History, animals, cars, farming, food, classic stuff, and much more. Notable work on this channel includes railfanning, gaming (including Eight Marbles and some older Mario games), and more. The Trainz series, Rails of Highland Valley, is also featured here. So if you're a fan of any of that, then you've come to the right place.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stuff! :)

TheN&WClassA1218 Hey guys. Here's a little update on the rest of Rails of Highland Valley: The Prequel Episode 4: Engine 8375, Where Are You? This should hopefully be the last update. Part 5 is nearing completion, just gotta edit a few more things, and get a few more lines from Mandy. Also, it turns out this is gonna be a six part episode.... yes.. that's right. But don't worry, I've got Part 6 a good bit of the way done too. On that note, I'm overdue for this, but I owe you all an explanation on why this episode is so long and took four years to complete. I mean yeah, that's ridiculous, right? There's actually a bunch of reasons, but I'm going to give you the most basic ones. I started writing this episode in 2020/2021, and it was definitely fun to write. And the first part of that episode came out in 2022, that was around the same time I got my CDL. That year, I still felt like my life wasn't going anywhere really, and I needed a real change of scenery. So I took a CDL training school and in early 2023, I began my trucking career. And yeah, OTR trucking. I loved and hated it both. It was fun to get to catch trains in some new spots, and sometimes see some of my family members on runs. But, it surely gave me less time to work on ROHV, and sometimes it drained me to where I didn't feel like doing much of anything at all with the series. Not to mention, this was part of why I got Trainz 2019. Trainz 2010 was on the PC at home, so I didn't have access to that on the road. I do have TANE on my laptop, but like I said, trucking often affected my motivation to work on the series. That did change a little bit in July 2023 when I got Trainz 2019 to supplement TANE, and upgraded some of the characters to higher quality models. That did give me some of the motivation back. Of course that brings me to the next point. Part 2 wasn't released until January 2024, partly because I refilmed many of the scenes with Trainz 2019 and TANE (and I think that can be justified largely because TS2019 gives me access to a legit Pittsburgh line route and another route that actually features Pittsburgh). However, even after I took a break from trucking in the middle of 2024 and went back again later that year (with a different company), I still sometimes wrestled with motivation. Sometimes I felt that what I had in the script wasn't enough, and I had to add more just to keep myself motivated to work on the episode. I guess in my head, I believed a lie that I had to go all out and make this episode "perfect", or that what I had wasn't good enough. But let's be real, no episode is going to be 100% perfect. Other personal life issues in 2025 also delayed the making of this episode further, and some of these can also related to my second trucking job. My second trucking job drained me more honestly-I got bored of some of the places I'd be going to, and they had tighter delivery schedules, thus less down time for me during runs. But I quit trucking (probably for good) in Fall of last year after realizing it wasn't truly for me after all and that it drained me more than it satisfied me. Trucking only looks cool on the outside, but the industry is still trash, and I don't feel like it's worth it anymore. I'm kinda disappointed that trucking didn't end up being for me, but... it is what it is. Truth is, the road in making this episode has had bumps in it, and I've actually felt some days where I just wanted to give up. And yet... I didn't. And I don't plan to anytime soon! No siree!! I may have struggled, but you better believe I'm not gonna quit! All that said, for future episodes, I'm going to try to make them shorter (likely similar in length to the first three prequel episodes). Not too long, but just long enough so that it works. I've also come up with some ideas for this, like to do a better job planning them out, or if there's something I want to reference (whether a location, a relevant historical fact, a quote from a show/movie, etc.), I'll write it down and later see how I can fit it in. I also want to try to take my series production (on all three series) one day at a time. Thank you all for reading. I also greatly appreciate your patience and your continued viewership, in spite of the *ahem*.... difficulties. But hey, sometimes delays lead to greater outcomes in the long run. "When the time is right, I, the LORD, will make it happen": Isaiah 60:22 Have a good night guys, and a good rest of your week too. -Nicholas (1 day ago (edited))

TheN&WClassA1218 Can this world get any smaller? A couple weeks ago after visiting the B&O Railroad Museum, and I dropped by St. Denis afterward, I made a new friend. Met another railfan there named Jacob (he doesn't have YT, but we added each other on Facebook). We have a little bit in common. We both have autism (yes, it's true, and that's something you maybe didn't know about me), we both aren't fans of the CPKC merger or the Avelia Liberties, and so on. And we talked for a while, exchanging stories, talking about railfanning catches, and furthermore. But here's the kicker: When we first started talking, he recognized my voice. He actually has seen Rails of Highland Valley, but as much, he recognizes me from that I voiced in 2026 Productions' Terrible Tale of 311 series. I sure did not expect all that, lol! I mean I don't consider myself "famous", and that's not exactly my goal with YouTube, believe it or not. That said, I always appreciate you guys contributing though, keep it up. :) But see guys? This is one reason why railfanning is still a great hobby (and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!). It's always fun to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people (and that's part of why I still keep at it)! Below is a MARC HHP-8 I caught at Halethorpe later that night. TheN&WClassA1218 For future installments of Rails of Highland Valley, do you guys want me to upgrade my character’s model to the NS SD40-2 model from either Jointed Rail or Wig Wag Simulations? I’m actively considering it, but it probably wouldn’t happen until after Episode 5 of the Prequel (I’ve already filmed most of the first half). I also might upgrade Will to the Jointed Rail C40-8 while I’m at it. (3 days ago)
