To everyone who pointed out that this was not the mythical Hydra - you're right, but it was named after that creature. The mythological Hydra would grow two new heads if one was cut off, and if this kind of hydra is cut in pieces, each one that has certain cells will grow into a new hydra!

we did this in biology today and when we fed the hydra the daphnea, the daphnea gave birth and the hydra just ate the babies too :(

@0no1one, that's true, they are. Because, instead of mating, they divide in half, and therefore are exactly the same as the one that did the splitting, so, it's a copy

@MeatfortoeatALT I proposed dry dog food. It's plentiful and they can be fed that. And, yes, you can teach a carnivore to eat tofu. We do it!
